Greetings Skyking,
Thank you for this valuable information. First-hand accounts are what fill in the blanks. I'm gradually getting the whole picture. Deceit and double-speak can only hold up for so long.

Greetings jgnat!
Welcome to the estimable entourage of AUTODIDACTS NON-ANONYMOUS! I'm with Clam - Jean Valjean est mon hero. Surely, he was not an evil man; he only stole un peu de pain. He stole bread and it caused him pain. Now, if he had been a citizen of Germany, and stolen into the bakery and stolen some stolen, that might have been another matter. The point is, he did not knead dough, he needed bread! And that blessed priest who perceived the good in JV and simply informed the arresting officer that he meant for Jean to take the silver candlesticks [?], but in his haste, Jean left them behind! Jean resolves to help his fellowman in deed and truth and is a beloved man. I've forgotten the antagonist's name - Jarvet ? - but his relentless and ruthless pursuit of pauvre Jean is the plot that thickens and turns us into manic page turners. I am totally in awe of M. Hugo's climactic climb to conclusion! Anachronistically, if Darth Vadar could make a choice between the Evil Emperor and Luke Skywalker, a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, then we must not misjudge Inspector Nemesis [what was he, truly, at heart?] for merely doing his job - for the crown or for the people? After all, it was the Revolution! I love authors who can so beautifully draw their characters and breathe life and vitality into them. Thanx for a delightful topic. I really tried not to reveal too much as you are, at present, threading your way through this timely tome.
BTW, LVB so loved your thoughts on his illegible handwriting! As far as we know, he knew no Elise!

Dear Friends,
The first time I ever search the archives and this thread was my first click-on. It ties in beautifully with what Terry and Gary helped me understand regarding the quasi-religiosociopathic stand of the WT in Bulgaria. Surely, the Society wishes only the best for the precious flock of Jesus Christ. Thanks to all who contributed to the following thread: www.jehovahs-witness.com/7/126041/1.ashx

food in due season - the jwd holiday cookbook.
food in due season is a compilation of recipes from around the world submitted by the participants of the jw discussion forum.
many of the contributors are ex-jehovahs witnesses who are not permitted to associate with family because they have either left or been expelled from the religion.
Dear Lady Lee,
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your part in preparing and presenting "food at the proper time" for us new ones here at JWD. I wish the eyes of the entire WT establisment could be opened to the likes of the delightful ladies here and their contribution to our spiritual restoration. What our dear Lilly wrote about the women of the first century tells me that their modern-day counterparts have been busy with the needed care of the "congregation" whilst the men running the show - the Governing Body - have been waging war on the sheep. Bless the FORMIDABLE "weaker vessels [NOT!]" of JWD!
Humbly grateful and at your service,

there might be an invasion or two but iran will not be completely stopped .
according to bible prophecy iran will retain it's power enough to align with russia, syria, turkey, a few other countries and attack israel from the north.
this is the war of gog and magog prophesied in ezekiel 38-39. reread those chapters and decide for yourself if the 'similarities between ezekiel's prophecies and today's mideast reality are uncanny'.. .
Greetings Jeremiah,
Hope you are well. I've nothing intelligent to say - yet! - but the subject surely is thought-provoking, as are your others. It all seems to be unraveling toward some end. I recall reading that the ONLY WT prediction that has come to pass was that of CTR re: the establishment of Palestine [am I correct?] Might he be revealing more from "beyond the veil"? - see WT, 11/1/17, p. 6161, reprint

Dear Friends,
So well put! Quite agreed on others possibly having an agenda and the unavoidable friction present in any relationship. I was always aware of my limitations, and that I could become impatient with a friend or family member who did me no wrong whatsoever. That helped me understand that someone might treat me badly when I really didn't deserve it. "A man's insight slows down his anger." Living and still learning! Thanx for your stories. I'm going to find me a pooch!

a post on another topic got me thinking of this .
what was the longest bible study you knew of ???.
i knew a couple of pioneer sisters who had studies that lasted about 6 years, maybe they were longer...............they never came to the meetings and when i accompanied a sister on hers.
Dear Vitty,
I recall a study in the mid-west that had been going on with an entire family for well over ten years when I arrived there. No push toward meetings, service or baptism as I remember. Then the TRUTH book came out - URGENCY! - and I remember the speaker saying that we would no longer be studying with people who simply "tolerated" having a study with JWs. Who's tolerating whom?
